What is unique about Efil?

Efil is a disinfectant that provides a 24-hour protection against bacteria and viruses by drawing on the antimicrobial properties of metal ions.

Efil contains ethanol, silver and zinc ions, a combination made possible by original technology.

Is Efil effective against SARS-CoV-2 virus?

Yes. Efil is at least 99.9% effective against SARS-CoV-2 virus.

 

* Note: This product is not effective against all bacteria and viruses. Its efficacy may vary, depending on its usage and storage conditions. The effect is limited to the area where the sprayed liquid is applied.

What other germs is Efil effective against?

Efil’s efficacy and safety have been confirmed in a battery of test.
Fast-acting:
Kills 99.999% bacteria – Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Mycobacterium bovis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Serratia marcescens subsp within 30 seconds.
Kills 99.999% viruses – SARS-CoV-2, Influenza Type A virus within 60 seconds.

Long-lasting (for 24 hours):
Kills 99.99% bacteria – Staphyloccocus aureus, Escherichia coli and viruses – Influenza Type A on hard non-porous material for 24 hours.
Kills 99.9% virus – Influenza Type A and 99% bacteria – Staphyloccocus aureus on fiber for 24 hours.
Kills 99.9% and 99.99% of SARS-CoV-2 virus on fiber and non-porous material respectively for 24 hours.

Efil also has anti-mold protection and deodorizing properties.

I would like to keep my entire space free from bacteria and viruses. What objects can I disinfect with Efil?

Can be used

  • on hard surfaces (table tops, floors, walls etc.)
  • on soft surfaces such as on cloth (clothing, carpets, beddings, towels, baby strollers, etc.)
  • face masks*
  • indoor furnishings (switches, doorknobs, toilet seats, inside toilet bowls, bed rails, etc.)
  • computers, smartphones*
  • vomit and solid waste etc.

*Notes:
Face masks: Apply to the outer surface; dry well before wearing.
Smartphones and other electronic devices: Apply with a soft cloth; do not spray directly on the device. Read the product manual carefully before application.

How do I best use Efil?

To kill bacteria and viruses and protect against bacteria, viruses, and mold; and deodorize:

Simply spray or apply Efil on the surface or object.

  • Killing of bacteria/viruses and protection against bacteria/viruses/mold:
    1. Clean away any contaminating objects from the surface.
    2. Spray about 20 cm away from the surface until it is evenly and sufficiently moist.
    3. Leave it for a while before use.
    4. With fabrics, use only when they are fully dry.

Face masks: Apply to the outer surface; dry well before wearing.
Smartphones and other electronic devices: Apply with a soft cloth; do not spray directly on the device. Read the product manual carefully before application.

  • Deodorization:
    • Directly spray several times.

Notes:

  • This product is not effective against all bacteria or viruses. Its efficacy may vary, depending on its usage and storage conditions.
  • It only provides protection to the surface on which it is applied.
What are the precautions when using Efil?
  • Do not apply to hands or any other part of the human body, or pets.
  • Use only as directed.
  • The product may modify (discolor) certain metals and other materials.
  • Odors caused by soil may persist even after application.
  • Persons sensitive or allergic to alcohol or prone to skin rashes are advised to take care not to touch or inhale the mist during application.
  • When using in a small space, ventilate well.
  • Do not mix with chlorine-based products (danger of toxic gas).
  • Do not use near electrical appliances since this may cause a breakdown; do not use near fire or flammables (danger of ignition).
  • Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight or fire; avoid storing in places that can get very hot (such as inside an automobile); keep out of children’s reach.
  • If swallowed: Do not force vomiting. Give/drink milk or water, and seek medical attention immediately.
  • Contact with eyes: Immediately rinse with a great deal of water, and seek medical attention immediately.
Can I apply Efil to my hands or my pets?

Efil is a disinfectant that is recommended to be applied to inanimate material objects only.

It is not recommended to be used on the hands, any other parts of the body or on your pets and should only be used as directed. If the product comes in contact with your skin or your pets, please wash the area with water.

What objects should Efil NOT be applied to?
  • Do not apply to leather or delicate silk products.
  • The product may cause spots or damage to wool, silk, rayon, acetate, cupro, and other fabrics that are weak in water, not washable, or treated for waterproof or water-repellent effects; test on an inconspicuous spot beforehand.
  • Do not apply to white or light-colored textiles, leather, plain wood, paulownia wood, surfaces coated with water-soluble wax, paint, or varnish, or acrylic or styrene plastics; the product may cause spots or discoloration.
What are the contents in Efil?
Ethanol (49.5%), Isopropanol (4.4%), Silver compound (0.6%), Disinfectant (organic) (0.2%), Zinc compound (0.1%).
How should I store Efil?
  • Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight or fire.
  • Avoid storing in places that can get very hot.
  • Keep out of children’s reach.
Can I put Efil in my carry-on luggage for air travel?

Carry-on luggage – International flights:

  • 300 ml Efil bottles are not allowed. They must be put in your checked-in luggage.
  • 50 ml Efil bottles are allowed in carry-on luggage. It has to be in a plastic bag not exceeding 1L in volume. The content may not be removed and placed in any container other than the original bottle.

Please check with your airlines for further information if required.

How long is Efil good for?

Efil is a sundry product and there is no fixed expiration date for this product

Product quality is guaranteed for a period of three years from the time of manufacturing.
Once the bottle is opened, you are advised to use it within a reasonable period of time.

How long does one bottle last?

One 50 ml bottle allows about 400 pumps (about 0.1 ml per pump)
One 300 ml bottle allows about 460 pumps (about 0.65 ml per pump)

Is Efil packaging recyclable?

Yes. Efil packaging can be recycled. You can do your part to reduce waste.

Efil 50ml:

 

Indicates that the packaging (outer packaging and the bottle) is made of plastic (e.g. PP, PE, PET) which is recyclable.
Efil 300ml:

      Indicates that the packaging (box) is made of paper which is recyclable.
Indicates that the packaging (botttle) is made of plastic (e.g. PP, PE, PET) which is recyclable.

Where can I get Efil in Singapore?

Brick & Mortar (Offline) Stores:
Efil 50ml is currently available through our retail partners – selected FairPrice Finest stores, all FairPrice Xtra, Meidi-Ya supermarkets and Welcia-BHG stores.

Efil 300ml is currently available through our retail partners – all Meidi-Ya supermarkets and Welcia-BHG stores.

E-commerce (Online) Stores:
Efil is available on FairPrice Online, Lazada and Shopee.

Is Efil available in other countries?

Efil is currently sold in Japan and Singapore.
